Our unrelenting focus at Preston High School is Learner Growth
Learner Growth means that every student in every class knows exactly where they are with their learning, where they need to go next and what they need to achieve to get there. As teachers, we know this too and support them to meet their goals. This focus is enabled via a number of specific frameworks and practices our staff consistently engage with to support our students. We support students with Learner Growth as both Personal growth and Academic growth.
Sitting behind the work we do on a day to day are a range of practices that answer three questions;
- Where is the student currently in their learning – personal or academic?
- Where do they need to go in their learning?
- How do we support them to know where to go and how to get there?
