Enhancements Program
Future Families
Our Enhancement Program in the Da Vinci Years (Years 7-8) is built on our value of inclusion, which means we strive to provide opportunities for students to do things that reflect their passions or interests. In the Da Vinci Years, students are timetabled into two Enhancement sessions per week. These Enhancement sessions include Passion-based sessions, which foster exploration, and Academic sessions, which support students’ academic growth.
Passion-based enhancements
Passion-based enhancements reflect our value of Inclusion and provide opportunities for exploration of new ideas and passions. This means we strive to provide opportunities for students to do things that might reflect their passion or interest outside of the standard curriculum. These have included but are not limited to:
- STEM: Horticulture, Bridge Design, Chess, Coding, Forensic Science
- Languages: Chinese, French, Duolingo
- Music: Choir, Ensembles
- The Arts: Anime, Calligraphy, Crafternoon, Theatre Makeup
- Sport & Health: First Aid, Fitness, Sport, Dance
- Liberal Arts: Creative Writing, Book Club, Debating, Philosophy, Student Newspaper
Academic EnhaNCEMENTs
Additionally, we also have Academic Enhancements, which ensure that students in need of support receive it and those who need extension are challenged. These sessions have a smaller number of students, so their needs are targeted.
- Stretch Enhancements ensure students who are operating significantly ahead of the expected level have an opportunity to explore challenging curriculum that does not appear in the standard Victorian Curriculum.
- Support Literacy and Numeracy Enhancements ensures students who need additional support get extra time and targeted support to catch up.
